Not as i expect

The workbook is thin black and white book with some image to fulfill, some crossword and some multiple choice questions. But, for me, more unsatisfayng are the flashcards; i'm waiting for colorfull images (instead the images are black-red-whithe) that cover, not only basic structural anatomy and physiology of domestic animals, but i expect that those cards cover some important difference between animals anatomy (ex. differrence in bone morphology, the presence of protein secretion glands in horse urethra, structure of bovine kidney,...) and physiological (es. difference from swine immune system and other species, rumen is completely uncoverd). The only good things that i can find in this book for a veterinary student are the card that speeck about rodents, birds and reptile anatomy.

An excellent collection of really fun ideas, like the chocolate milk mustache straw on the cover. Life is too short to not be "just kidding". I have long looked for a book like this and (note to publisher), I am eagerly awaiting a sequel!

Don't judge this book by its cover!

This is a beautiful book - not really for kids at all - and the cover shown here on Amazon is not the same as the one on my copy. Mine has a more adult front cover with a three-dimensional element making it more inviting to open.

This is an A-Z of creative designs mainly - but not exclusively - for children. There are football goal chairs, bubble light shades, bird's-nest seating, swinging tables, shoes in the shape of catapults, muffin stools, office desks supported by giant Jenga blocks and balloons - a world of inspirational ideas for anyone who's interested in contemporary design with a built-in sense of humour.

About the Author
Bruce Smith is a former Technical Editor of Acorn User magazine and founder of Bruce Smith Books. Around half of his 150 books have covered the topic of computers and computer programming. He was one of the first to write about the ARM chip when it was originally released. He is well known for his easy, lucid style of writing and his books have been translated into five languages. Very practical

It is easy to find good books about C# and Java. However, for many more specialized development tools it is hard to find a book that provides what a beginner needs. In many cases, a book thoroughly covers the language commands, but leaves the reader staring a a blank command line wondering "What, exactly, do I need to type to compile and run my program?" Bruce Smith's books do not fall into this trap. Smith provides not only the necessary coaching and instruction in assembly language for the Raspberry Pi's ARM processor, but also gives clear practical instructions for getting everything to work.

One of the reasons I bought the book is its introduction to the ARM vector floating-point coprocessor, a topic that often gets short-shrift from authors. If I had to pick one nit with Smith's book, he fails to mention a little trap with assembling coprocessor code. Smith starts the book using the GNU assembler "as" and then moves to using gcc later in the book, which is entirely reasonable. However, some readers might like to know that if you want to assemble vector coprocessor code with "as" rather than gcc you must include the command-line parameter "-mfpu=vfpv2".

Whether you are looking just to have some fun learning assembly language with your Raspberry PI or whether you view the PI as a stepping-stone to greater things ARM, Bruce Smith's book definitely belongs on your shelf.

I'm totally new to Raspberry Pi, Linix, and to Arm processors. This book is clearly written with easy to follow examples. I'm up to chapter 12 so far.

I bought the kindle edition and am reading it on my IPad. The formatting, pictures, and text flow are all superb.

Great Book on Microwave NDT&E ...

Dear Candidate Buyers,

I am a Ph.D. student at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in SUNY. I bought this book almost 2 months ago, and after buying from Amazon I used the book very often.

I am studying on Characterization of Dielectric Materials by a Microwave Non-Destructive method. The book is generally written good, but I do recommend this book to people studying and working on the special area of Characterization of Materials by Microwaves.

You can find in the literature lots of studies of the authors V. V. Varadan and V. K. Varadan, on characterization of materials by free-space non-destructive method. Their research group is one of the big scientic groups on Microwave NDT&E (Non-Destructive Testing and Evaluation).

As a result, I rate this book 5 out of 5, but want to notify the prospective buyers of this book that this book is written for a book on a specific subject (characterization of materials by microwaves), it is not a text book (in my opinion).

wanting to serve and do what any good Christian would do

For the day and age that we are living it, I felt it important to re-read this book. You hear people being called "Uncle Tom" and it bothered me. While I am fully aware of the abuse in slavery, having traveled to the south, visited many mansions and farms that had slaves, read several other books (some written by slaves that were freed), Uncle Tom's Cabin reaffirmed by understandings and beliefs. I understand the meaning and why some might label those who betrayed their own race, but I found "Uncle Tom" to be an upright person, wanting to serve and do what any good Christian would do. It is nice to see that the Author was a Vermonta!

Very useful book

It's short, but very useful book. Company I work for switched from InstallScript to MSI (which was stupid idea, due lack of flexibility) and I struggled since then, because information about MSI technology either limited or difficult to understand. After I bought this book, I found many useful solutions I would love to have during days I spent to solve issues I faced. This book uncover many grey spots MSI technology has. So, I would recommend this book.

Fischer's book has some good material and represents a valuable, fresh perspective to Windows Installer technology. I learned some useful tidbits that were missing in Phil Wilson's classic book on the subject. Fischer's book is especially good if you want to know more about the data schema that underlies the MSI file. However (and this is a big drawback for me) the book lacks an index! Any book on Windows Installer technology earns much of its value as a reference guide to this complex subject. Thus an index is practically indispensable.

From Rags to Riches

This is a wonderful play to read. Henry Higgins and Colonel Pickering make a bet that they can take a poor flower girl, Eliza Doolitle, and pass her off as a duchess. The pair teaches her perfect English, manners, and how to dress like a lady. They succeed, but they don't realize Eliza has her own opinions. This play is great because you really get a feel for the early Victorian era and Shaw's feminist views.

WARNING....abridged version

Although I love Pygmalion, this is an ABRIDGED version. Many scenes are not included, particularly at the end of each act. If you want an unabridged version, I would suggest the Penguin Classics edition.
